Unlock your passions at Myerscough Veterinary Group
Myerscough Veterinary Group are a group of small animal practices located in the North West of England. You will be mainly based at our Clayton Le Dale in Blackburn and once you feel confident, you may be required to work at our other branches. Blackburn is well-connected by road and rail. The local railway station offers regular services to nearby cities like Preston and Leeds and Manchester Airport is easily accessible from Blackburn via the motorway network. The M65 motorway runs close to Blackburn, connecting it to Manchester and Blackpool. Blackburn is surrounded by green spaces, including parks, nature reserves, and the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We have a supportive and friendly team of 17 Vets, 25 Nurses and a fantastic support team. Within our team, we have certificate holders in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Dentistry and Oral Surgery and Anaesthesia. We also have another Vet working towards their Dermatology certificate. At Myerscough, we encourage development of all our staff, but we are also aware of how important personal time is. We are here to develop you as a veterinary surgeon, but also to look after you as an individual. Pastoral care is massively important in our practice.
Practice facilities and equipment include digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, laparoscopy, CT Scanner and so much more.
Step into a supportive start
39 hours per week over a 4 day working week with a set day off. You will be part of our Saturday rota working 1 in 8 Saturday mornings, 8am-12pm. No OOH (OOH provision by Vetsnow). Earliest start would be 8am, latest finish 7.30pm but variance between these.
After a 2-week induction period, consults are initially 30 minutes to help settle into practice and once more confident, standard consult is 15 minutes, with double appointments for blood sampling and euthanasia. You will have dedicated VetGDP mentoring time weekly and operating time will be mentored and when confident you will be allowed to progress on your own.
