Veterinary Surgeon required at Oaks Veterinary Centre, Dundonald

The Role

Here at Oaks Veterinary Centre Dundonald, we are looking for a Consulting Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The day-to-day duties include routine consults such as vaccines, health checks, pre and post op examinations, initial examination of sick pets however procedures and operations are carried in our main Saltcoats branch. 
 
Days and hours of work are extremely flexible, and we are happy to discuss this with any potential candidates. Some mornings and evenings will be included. There are weekends or out of hours in this branch, however, weekends are available in the main Saltcoats branch if this suited the candidate. A minimum of 20 hours is required but there is a potential option for more hours and possible hours in the main site depending on candidate's desire and availability.

About Us

We are a small consulting only branch in the village of Dundonald, South Ayrshire. We have a great relationship with our clients and the practice has a great community feel about it. Sometimes our clients pop in without their pets for a chat so we are looking for a client focused veterinary surgeon who would love to be part of the community as well as our team. Dundonald is part of 3 site practice with other branches in Saltcoats and Largs. 
 
We are close to both beaches and rural walking areas but also have great access to Glasgow through the M77. Patients are transported by the practice to the main site for any procedures and operations. Our main surgery is a large newly refurbished practice with modern equipment including digital X-ray, dental X ray, lab, ultrasound and more.

Our team consists of 9 Veterinary Surgeons, with 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 10 Receptionists and a supportive management team consisting of a Clinical Director, Practice Director, Practice Manager and Head Nurse. We have certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and an advanced practitioner with feline medicine currently being completed. We also have Nurses with a varied interested and qualifications in nutrition, medicine, surgery, and behaviour. This is a sole charge consulting role however there will always be support from our other sites.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for an experienced consulting Vet, MRCVS registered. You must be confident with sole charge work and happy to refer procedures or operations to the main site. We are looking for a friendly and good communicator who shares our passion for quality veterinary and client care.
