About the Role:

We are looking for a Practice Manager to join our award-winning, independent, family-run, small animal Veterinary Centre in Weston-super-Mare. You must be detail-oriented, driven by excellence, and eager to strive for continuous improvement in our gold standard of care. With a dedicated Clinical Director overseeing patient care and a passionate HR Manager focused on creating a positive work environment, we are now seeking a Practice Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and deliver exceptional client service. We are looking for someone who can add value to the team and has the ambition to develop and grow with our expanding practice. Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the veterinary practice.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and effective utilization of resources.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and optimize stock control, including inventory management and ordering.

Financial Management:

  • Manage financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, accounts receivable, and debt management.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and HR Manager to develop and implement business strategies.

Client Relations and Service Excellence:

  • Focus on delivering exceptional client service and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with clients.
  • Handle client feedback, complaints, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the client experience.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide leadership and support to the practice team, fostering a positive work culture.
  • Coordinate and schedule staff, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for staff.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ensure the practice operates in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar practice management or leadership role, preferably within the veterinary or service industry.
  • Strong understanding of stock control, debt management, finances, and accounting principles.
  • Proven track record in operational management and process optimization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional client service and commitment to animal welfare.

Job Details:

  • Average of 40 hours per week
  • Starting salary: £34,000
