Equine Veterinary Surgeon required at Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic
The Role
Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic vet to join our international, dynamic, and sociable team on a permanent and long-term basis. We offer a supportive and friendly environment in which you will be given the opportunity to establish yourself as a key team member.
We service a wide range of clients – from leisure horse owners to international competition yards – therefore you will be assured of a diverse and interesting case load where continuity is highly regarded and encouraged.
You will predominantly work alone other than when in surgery but there will be support if required.
Your working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with 1 week night and 1:4 weekends on call, (1 day in lieu following a weekend on call).
The salary for this role will be up to £63,000 depending on experience.
About Us
We are an Equine Veterinary Practice with a separate Small Animal Clinic on site. Our main clinic as well as branch practice will provide you with a full range of equipment (digital x-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy and gastroscopy, laser therapy/surgery, arthroscopy, gait analysis, specialised endodontic procedures etc.), including surgical facilities, examination rooms, stables, and isolation facilities.
Blairecourt is a busy practice that cares for equine clients from happy hackers to Olympic competition horses. Our caseloads are varied, and we encourage Vets to build up their own client base and bring in cases to the clinic.
We are based in the Essex countryside, just 15 minutes from the City of Chelmsford which is 30 minutes to London by train.
Our team currently consists of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 Receptionists.
We are a tight knit team who support each other and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. We like to support local shows and sometimes attend.
Applicant Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ ambulatory experience, come with a specialised interest and be eager to develop their own client base. You must be RCVS registered and qualified. You should be confident and happy to work alone on the road and be able to quickly build a rapport with clients. Comprehensive CPD including studying for a certificate will be strongly encouraged alongside an attractive remuneration package.
