Senior Veterinary Surgeon required at Alma Veterinary Hospital

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon (surgery certificate holder) to complete our team of 5 experienced Veterinary Surgeons (including 2 medicine certificate holders) and 9 RVNs. We will also be joined by 2 new graduates shortly which is exciting.

Many of the team are keen cyclists and a bike rack is available. We also have gym bunnies, judokas, horse riders, triathletes, gardeners, rug makers and ice skaters on the team.

Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what the team have to say about working at Alma:

“I have enjoyed working at Alma for over 30 years as partner, Clinical Director, and now a more part-time role of Senior Veterinary Surgeon. We have a very well-equipped surgery with a great team of experienced vets and nurses.”  Paul – Vet

A Senior Veterinary Surgeon with Alma Vets has great workload variation with a balance of clinical work, coaching and developing colleagues and contributing to the organisation and financial performance of the practice.

You will work in collaboration with the Clinical Director, Senior Vets and Practice Manager to ensure we reach our goals. Case continuity is encouraged, as we recognise how rewarding the development of the client/pet/vet bond can be.

Rota patterns that work for you – 4-day week

Our full-time vets work 4 days per week and a 1:3 Saturday morning. Typically, you will work 3 days 8.30am – 6.30pm and 1 day 8.30am – 7pm however we are open to a discussion and always design our rota around our vets with their input. In addition, our vets cover an average of 1 night per week on-call for inpatients in the Hospital only.

Our local Vets Now clinic cover our emergencies from 7pm-8am Monday to Friday and from 1pm on Saturdays.
