Severn Edge Bridgnorth

Veterinary Surgeon – Severn Edge Veterinary 24-hour Hospital – Bridgnorth (days only). Full-time / part-time can be considered.

Bridgnorth is a picturesque and busy market town on the banks of the river Severn in beautiful Shropshire. Our 24-hour hospital provides an excellent standard of care throughout the day and night. We are very well equipped with laparoscopic equipment, harmonic cautery and CR7 dental X-ray. We have plenty of endoscopes – gastroscope, bronchoscope and rigid scopes that can all be connected up to the video tower. Orthopaedic kits include TTA, locking plate kits and ASIF kits. We are also on the move to a purpose-built hospital, with a CT scanner (completion in early 2024) and are a Gold level Cat friendly clinic.

This role comprises half of the week at our Bridgnorth hospital and half at our practice in Kinver, South Staffordshire. Our Kinver practice has a very friendly team who care for the pets of our dedicated and kind clients. Kinver is the ideal place to enjoy general practice and this role provides the opportunity for great case continuity between Kinver and our hospital. Kinver is also having an update this year with a refurbishment of the practice.

All areas are easily accessible to the beautiful countryside for hiking, cycling, and historical sights, but within close proximity to large towns, making this an ideal location, no matter what your interests are.

We have a supportive team with varied interests including cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, medical oncology, exotics and imaging. As such we can support candidates wishing to work as a general practitioner or those who would like to develop further in a particular area.

Our diaries are well managed with 15 minute appointments, and longer where required. We avoid extended sessions of consulting in one go. We have allocated time for administration, lab reporting/phone calls and catch-up, in addition to adequate time for breaks.

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, worked over 4 days, plusa fair share of weekends worked equally between the vet team. We are happy to consider part-time hours for the right candidate.

Salary banding for this role is £35,000 (1 year's experience) - £55,000, depending on experience, plus fully supported certificate study (if desired), along with access to one of the best online veterinary learning resources in the industry, Knowledge Hub, offering a fantastic range of CPD and a suite of internal training courses.

Benefits include; 5 weeks annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, opportunity to buy an additional 2 weeks' leave, an extra days' leave each year in your first 5 years at CVS, Sharesave scheme, auto-enrolment pension, enhanced maternity pay, paid professional fees, discount on pet treatments and products and much more…!
