Looking for a new challenge and career progression?
Want a practice where your voice is heard?
With fully flexible hours, a generous training budget and the support to help you develop, joining Dundee Vets for Pets might be your answer! Whether you're looking for a promotion or have previously held a head nurse position we will support you, along with our highly experienced regional team, in taking on this exciting new challenge.
You'll be joining a hard-working and inclusive team who are passionate about being at the heart of the local community and we hold a great balance of skills within the team. We're extremely supportive of one another and have created a safe space where we can share our thoughts and ideas, as well as having a great relationship with our colleagues at Pets Grooming to encourage a united team spirit.
Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients. Nurse consults are 20 to 30 minutes depending on the type of consultation and we run a variety of nurse clinics weekly including second vaccinations, weight clinics and diabetic clinics.
Your role will include helping with the daily running of the practice with the Practice Manager and Clinical Lead, whilst leading by example using your training and experience to its fullest to mentor others and delivering the highest standards of client and patient care. You should have a good experience of veterinary nursing, excellent customer service and communication skills and be an effective team player. We're a friendly, down-to-earth bunch, with a genuine interest in animal welfare and we'd love it if you shared the same qualities and enthusiasm as us.
This position can be fully flexible hours, full or part time, with no out of hours or late nights to ensure you get to have a good work/life balance. Weekends are shared with the team to keep it fair for everyone.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer all the benefits you'd expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression, exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home).
Based in a great location on the Kingsway East Retail Park there's ample parking and great access to local amenities. Dundee is Scotland's fourth largest city and is situated on the northeast coast in a stunning location between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. A city with science, historic ships, museums, and plenty of culture with theatres, arts centres, coffee shops and cool bars, you'll be spoilt for choice when outside of work. Transport links are aplenty throughout Dundee too with train, bus and road links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Perth, Fife and as far as London Kings Cross! And as if exploring the beauty of Dundee and Scotland wasn't enough for you, Dundee Airport is nearby for those getaways further afield.
Pets just see people. And just like pets, we embrace everyone's differences. We work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be.
Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our group. So, if you think you're a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we're better with pets', we're waiting to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.
