Eastwood Vets4Pets
Veterinary Surgeon - Full time / Part time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic small animal vet to come join our team at Eastwood Vets4Pets.
We are currently looking for a third full-time vet to help us at our busy small animal practice, with an ever-expanding exotic caseload. So, if you are looking for a role with a varied case load, this is the perfect opportunity.
Eastwood is a small town located just twenty minutes between Nottingham and Derby and close to East Midlands Airport. The practice is minutes away from busy Giltbrook retail park and a large IKEA, and we are situated close to both junctions 26 and 27 of the M1 motorway. There are regular bus routes to nearby towns and cities and the new Ilkeston train station is just ten minutes away.
You will be working alongside Jon, our very experienced JVP who is a certificate holder in small animal surgery, exotic animal practice, he is also an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery and zoological medicine. Jon also has a further qualification in endoscopy and endosurgery. With all of Jon's experience he will be able to support you to really achieve your veterinary career goals no matter what they look like.
Jon is supported by fantastic, experienced nursing team consisting of head nurse, 4 nurses, 2 student nurse and supported by Practice Manager and 4 client care advisors. A friendly close-knit team who often will go for walks in the peak district and out for meals.
We have a keen focus on skill advancement in our practice, with a generous CPD package offered. This is demonstrated with current staff members undertaking a master's degree which is supported by the practice.
We are a clinical associate with Nottingham Vet School assisting the students in their exotic rotations. So this will also offer you the opportunity to help the next generation of vets!
Our practice team is committed to providing a gold standard and client care, constantly going above and beyond. The ideal candidate will be looking to work in a patient focused practice, so excellent communication skills and dedication to your work are a must.
What we can offer you:
• Competitive Salary - £35,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience
• Flexible on working hours to full / part time and short or long days
• No OOH
• CPD allowance of £1500, negotiable if you have a special interest.
• Exclusive company discount -20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room
• Paid professional memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA)
• Certificates encouraged and supported
• Cycle to work scheme available and discounts at over 800 retailers through benefits platforms.
This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a busy first opinion small animal and exotic practice, with the benefit of having an advanced practitioner in both surgery and zoological medicine in house!
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years' experience in small animal and be confident in all aspects of routine surgery and consults. However, we understand that everyone is at different stages in their veterinary careers, so we are happy to consider new graduates as well.
This fantastic position is full time with weekend work on a rota basis but no out of hours, with time off in lieu after weekends worked. We understand work is not one size fits all so part time hours can also be considered.
We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference so if you meet our role requirements, we'd love to hear from you.
To hear more about this fantastic opportunity please send your CV or contact lauren.clutterbuck@vets4pets.com or Rachael.bury@vets4pets.com and someone will get back to you within 1 working day
