Veterinary Surgeon
Berry House Vets, Hitchin
Up to £63,000 DOE plus £5,000 Relocation Allowance

“I just want to pick the practice up and take it with me”.

"that’s how much I love this practice” said our soon-to-be-ex vet tearfully when she handed in her notice.  If you want to see for yourself just why she said this, come and have a chat with us.

We at Berry House have an opportunity for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our team on a permanent basis. Our full-time vets generally choose to work a 4-day week (10-hour days on shifts between 8am and 7pm) with some Saturday mornings and weekend work. There is no standard OOH or telephone duties for this role although occasional requirement to care for low dependency boarders on a Sunday (not on Bank Holidays).  We are also happy to accommodate part time applicants for this role who are looking to work 2 or 3 days per week.

Work life balance that tips the scale

We are all about ensuring our staff get the perfect work life balance that suits their lifestyle which is why we allow our Vets, where possible, to choose their day off allowing 4d weekends to be taken without using any holiday up! Our weekend rota is completed 6-12 months ahead and daily rotas are available 5 weeks in advance, so our staff can plan their time off.

About Us

We are an established, friendly, and supportive practice in North Hertfordshire with direct rail links to London. We are a very experienced team including several certificate holders, full RVN team and support staff with a strong team ethos. Equipment/service includes laparoscopy, digital radiography, echocardiology and comprehensive in-house lab. The practice has an active program of Quality Improvement driven by in-house analysis of working practices. We are a busy practice with a high and varied caseload, which would suit someone who is keen to undertake further development.  If this sounds like the type of practice for you – apply below!
