About Us

Fair City Vets is a friendly and supportive team at a busy practice. Our building is spacious and bright, allows a lot of light into the consult rooms and has a small garden to take our patients out for a wander. Our practice is well staffed so even when busy, we still maintain our calm atmosphere.

What makes us different to other practices?

Our nursing team runs slightly differently to others. Although we have a nursing manager, our nursing team splits the responsibilities between each other.
We have various departments - some examples of these are Hospital Management, Ops & Theatre Management, Nutrition, Consults (development & expansion of current nurse consults) and Lab & Diagnositcs to name just a few. Projects for each of these teams are driven by the team leaders with our Nursing Manager, Practice Manager and Clinical Director available for support and regular discussions about how things are going and what our plans for the future are.  This has made our nursing team run smoothly and work amazingly together as well as meaning everyone gets a say in how things are done and the opportunity to develop their leadership skills.

As a practice, we offer laser therapy which is led by our nursing team. by the nurses. We have patients that are referred to us for this procedure and it is an amazing skill for a nurse to develop.

We also have a cake wheel which we spin each week so that there’s a designated person to make or buy a little treat for the team, which we always look forward to. You can then sit and eat this in our wellbeing area. The wellbeing area is a safe space where you can sit and relax when you need some time away and we have wellbeing boards where we celebrate each other’s achievements.

We have weekly drop-in sessions where we can speak with our managers to either have a personal chat or bring ideas to them to continue to improve the working day of the practice. We have one practice meeting a month and one nursing meeting a month, alongside receiving a regular newsletter from our practice manager with any updates within the practice. Here at Fair city, we’re proud of the way we communicate with each other, which in turn which eases the work of the team.

We have recently started up groups who manage sustainability and wellbeing in our practice. They have regular meetings to bring ideas to the table and ensure we continue to develop within these areas. There are still openings in these groups, if it’s something that would interest you.
