Vet Opportunity, Near Leeds

State-of-the-art, purpose built, 9-vet small animal practice looking to welcome an additional vet to their team.

Prospect Health are proud to be working with a leading state-of-the-art hospital in North Yorkshire, who due to expansion are looking to welcome a new vet to their close-knit and supportive team. The practice itself is a unique and modern purpose-built facility. Situated in a rural location with the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors on your doorstep, yet with easy access to both York and Leeds.

The practice designed to a high specification on hospital model and are accredited as a Veterinary Nurse Training Practice to provide the highest level of care to their patients. They have a wide array of equipment including plenty of surgical tools (including laparoscopy), echocardiograms, endoscopes, ultrasound, digital x-ray, PRP's, and much more, allowing you to work cases up thoroughly. They work closely with a nearby emergency provider (only 3 miles away) which is great for case continuity, but also means there are no on call responsibilities with this position. You will be joining a friendly and experienced team of 9 vets, all with different levels of experience and clinical interests, including several advanced practitioners and certificate holders. In addition there is a highly trained team of qualified and trainee nurses, receptionists and management team, all contributing to making this an welcoming and enjoyable working environment (in total there are roughly 30 members of staff).

This position is full-time, however there can be flexibility for those wanting fewer hours. Typically, their vets work a 4.5 day week with a fair share of the weekend rota, giving you a good work life balance. That being said, if you have out of work commitments and would prefer a different working pattern, we still want to hear from you as there can be flexibility in the role. There is a very competitive salary attached to this position which recognizes previous experience and what you can bring to the practice. There is also plenty of other benefits including certificate support and funding, staff discount, separate kennels for staff pets so you can bring your dog to work, regular team bonding events and an above average pension contribution.

Key Duties

• Modern, purpose-built practice situated within a short drive to both Leeds and York
• Full time role for an experienced veterinary surgeon
• Access to excellent facilities including: surgical tools (including laparoscopy), echocardiograms, endoscopes, ultrasound, digital x-ray, PRP's, and much more
• 4.5 day week with no OOH and a good weekend rota (can be flexible)
• 9-vet team, many of which are either advanced practitioners or certificate holders

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

• You must have the right to work in the UK
• You must be registered with the RCVS to practice in the UK
• Ideally you will have 1 year post graduate experience in small animal practice
• Friendly and hard working attitude and ability to work well individually or in a team
