Hunters Bar (Sheffield)

Are you looking for a practice to be supported and nurtured, with the ability to develop your career how you want?

Hunters Bar Veterinary Clinic are looking for a vet to join our team of 6 vets, 4 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 5 receptionists, all of whom aim to provide the best client care. We are a progressive team of vets always looking to maintain high clinical standards and have a wide range of interests including ultrasound imaging, pain management and mentoring. Our nursing team are exceedingly supportive and very independent, running nurse clinics, mobility clinics and providing Schedule 3 surgeries to our patients.

Colleague welfare is our highest priority with multiple mental health first aiders in our team. We have (and make full use of) a weekly fund for staff which has included; massages, snacks, drinks and treats. We have a dedicated quality improvement team looking to ensure we are best supporting our staff and patients. Here's what one of our permanent Vets, Kristin, has to say:

" Hunters Bar is an amazing place to work! I have been here for 5 years now. It is a good first opinion general practice, but we also have the toys and knowledge necessary to pursue more advanced diagnostics and complicated cases. Being part of a larger company, also allows access to free internal medicine consultations with boarded specialists when needed, and for the more ambitious- training and promotion to more senior positions are available for those who wish to pursue it.

I have worked for many practices in my life, and each and everyone always put the welfare of the patients first. What has made me stay at Hunters Bar and Dronfield is the exceptional team spirit and work culture that has been fostered here. It is a no-blame, non-competitive environment and everyone is happy to share what they know and help each other out. Mental health is taken seriously, and new graduates are provided with lots of training and supervision until they feel comfortable. Most importantly, people are friendly here - we get on!"

We have 15 minute appointments as standard, often extended to 30 to give us time with patients without the need for over-running. We feel incredibly lucky to have a supportive and loyal client base who trust us to provide the most appropriate care for them and their pets.

The position ideally suits an individual confident with sole charge and who enjoys a variety of clinical work, however, all of our vets are experienced and happy to mentor, if needed. We can offer a Consulting only role, if preferred.

Full-time or part-time position available. Saturdays are equally split amongst the team (1 in 3). No OOH's. Package includes RCVS and VDS cover, pension, SAYE scheme and health assured scheme. Annual leave includes bonus days for long service.

Salary: £34,000 - £60,000, depending on experience.
