We have an exciting opportunity for an RVN to join our team at Yew Tree Vets as Head Veterinary Nurse on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an ideal role for a Nurse who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Yew Tree Veterinary Surgery is an RCVS accredited practice based in Withington, a vibrant M20 location in south Manchester. Only 4 miles from the buzzing Manchester City Centre and 11 minutes away from Manchester's International Airport! We are a busy forward thinking practice offering lots of opportunities to learn and advance your skills, you will enjoy recently extended surroundings, within a well-equipped practice with many exciting opportunities in the near future.

You will work closely with the team in operational duties as required and play an active role in driving and teaching clinical excellence amongst the nursing team.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Be responsible and accountable for leading the nursing team
  • To work as an active member of the clinical support team
  • To fully participate in the Nursing rota
  • To provide the highest standards of client service and patient care (including out-patient care) for clients whilst adhering to the CVS behavioural framework


This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week over 4 days, with a set day off in the week, plus 1 in 8 Saturdays. No OOH or Bank Holidays! We have a varied caseload with a generous rota to ensure a good work/life balance.

You will be rewarded with an attractive salary of £27,000 - £40,500 pro rata, dependant on experience and length of qualification.
