At Vetfinders have partnered with Veterinary Centre to help them grow and find their next hire. A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join and manage the team in this fabulous small animal practice in Ruland
Role
This, independent practice provides excellence in all aspects of pet care. As a growing practice, they require a skilled and enthusiastic team player/leader.
They offer a 4-day week as a good work-life balance is essential to maintain the high demands of veterinary life.
The on-call, out of hours rota is shared equally, max 1:5 but currently is only 1:10. There is an experienced, dedicated night nurse team to assist and to ensure there is 24-hour on-site care, this includes taking the out of hours phone calls.
In addition to your usual day off, you will have the Monday off following your on-call weekend, the three-day weekend after this is popular among the team.
As part of this well-established practice, you will offer support and leadership to your colleagues, along with mentorship to the graduates. You will strive to combine the provision of exceptional, bespoke and affordable care with progressive current best practice in veterinary medicine.
If you have excellent communication skills, are ambitious and driven, work to a very high standard, value clinical discretion, would like to be part of a forward-thinking independent practice and work with a great supportive team, then we would love to hear from you.

The Practice
As an Independent Practice, they have enjoyed a sustained growth over the last several years, culminating in the practice reaching its full capacity with clients as well as the team.
This close-knit team of vets are down to earth, friendly and willing to share their wealth of expertise. They are fortunate to have a large team of experienced, dedicated and teams of RVN’s and support staff, all of whom share their passion for providing high standards of veterinary care to patients and owners.
The practice currently has 3 certificate holders working at the Uppingham site. They are now looking to expand this team. This Spring, they aim to have attained RCVS hospital status and anticipate further growth
They are members of the XLVets community, collaborating with other likeminded independent practices; sharing knowledge, ideas and skills. There will be plenty of opportunities to attend XLVets meetings throughout the course of the year.
'A growing entrepreneurial vet group with a caring mentoring approach that strives to create a happy work place. Easy access to the practice owners and a supportive environment allows vets to pursue their interests and optimise their work life balance'

Company
VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
