Matt Smith Vets
We are looking for a Small Animal Vet to join our friendly and supportive team at Matt Smith Vets.
We are a small animal first opinion practice located in Clay Cross, only 5 miles from Chesterfield and 10 minutes by car to junction 29 of the M1, making this an ideal location for commuting and travelling to other areas. The beautiful Peak District National Park is only 10 miles away, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Alternatively, if city life is more your thing, you can reach Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham and Doncaster in around 40 minutes by car. With easy access to East Midlands airport too, this area really does offer something for everyone!
We are a hardworking, dedicated and friendly team. Our 2 Vets have combined experience of over 35 years and our 3 RVN's have over 50 years of experience between them! We also have a fantastic support team, which includes SVN's, receptionist and our wonderful Practice Manager. We offer a friendly, supportive and family feel environment to work in. We have a great team spirit; we all work hard and play even harder!
Our practice is only 4 years old and 2 extensions have since been added, due to an increase in caseload. We offer 15 to 30 minute appointments and have all the usual toys a vet practice has to offer. We also have a fantastic customer base – see what they have to say about us on our Facebook reviews - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063762362697&sk=reviews
Here is what one of our regular locums has to say about working for us: I have been working as a locum for more than 10 years. Without hesitation I would say Matt Smith Vets is the best practice I have worked at. The staff are super-friendly, such a joy to work with, there is always lots of treats to eat, the practice is well run and efficient for such a small practice. It's a busy practice but I never feel stressed or overwhelmed, the clients are very friendly unlike City folk. I would not recommend it enough.
Our ideal candidate will be a confident clinical, capable of working sole charge, if required. A team player who can offer the highest standards of care to our patients and clients.
Full and part-time applications considered, either on a permanent or fixed term contract, and shifts can be flexible around the candidate's needs. There will be a requirement to work 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, but no OOH's, Bank Holidays or on-call, offering you a great work-life balance.
We can offer an attractive salary of up to £70k pro rata, dependent on experience and qualifications, plus fully supported certificate study, along with access to one of the best online veterinary learning resources in the industry, Knowledge Hub, offering a fantastic range of CPD and a suite of internal training courses.
We know that benefits are key, and that your personal benefits priorities will differ from others. Holidays, pensions, discounts, paternal leave, fee payments or share save schemes might be your priority. Flexible working is essential for others, and we are very open to finding a creative working pattern that suits. For clinical staff, CPD is probably critical. Just so you know we offer a wide range of amazing CPD – you'll have access to Knowledge Hub, the best online veterinary learning resource within the industry - and we also offer an allowance to spend on external courses too. If you'd like to learn more, do feel free to contact the recruiter managing this campaign and ask them to talk you through our offerings. Or, if easier, you can find a list at on our careers site CVS Employee Benefits- what we can offer you. (cvsukltd.co.uk)
