Veterinary Surgeon - Night Vet (7 nights on, 14 nights off)

Starting salary: £50,000+ more experienced Vets, discussed at interview, DOE

Location: Wangford, Suffolk

Job ref: 725

At Vetfinders we are helping practices grow and find their next hire. A new opportunity has arisen for a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join this rapidly expanding, small animal practice in Suffolk.

Role

The night vet role offers a fantastic work: life balance with a rota of 7 nights on, 14 nights off. The salary starts at £47,000, up to £56,000 PLUS monthly fuel allowance, holiday pay and previous listed benefits.

Opportunity to work extra day shifts if desired.

You are required to be a competent vet with the ability to perform surgery on emergency cases and make decisions independently. You will be working with a RVN overnight to care for inpatients as well as see any incoming emergency appointments. Hours of work are 19.00-08.15.

This independent practice provides excellence in all aspects of pet care. As a growing practice, they require an understanding, enthusiastic and patient team player. You must be confident and capable of carrying out surgical and medical procedures.

The practice aspires to create an environment that offers clinical excellence combined with first rate patient care.

 Benefits

  • RCVS & VDS membership fees paid.
  • CPD allowance
  • Car/Fuel allowance
  • Access to Private Healthcare – including Hearing, Dental and Optical cover
  • Employee discounts.
  • Up to 6 weeks holiday.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Paid breaks

The Practice

As a multi-award-winning Independent Practice, they have enjoyed sustained growth over the last several years, culminating in the practice almost reaching its full capacity with clients as well as its team. The turnover of Team Members is extremely low, showing how content and dedicated the team is here. Recruitment is needed due to expansion of the practice.

They are fiercely independent and look to remain so indefinitely by continuing to show that each of their clients and their animals are all important to them. Consistency within the team gives their clients the confidence that their concerns are listened to, and that the animals are individually known and can be treated as such.

To continue giving the best service to as many people as possible, the practice opened its own dedicated “OUT OF HOURS” team in October 2022. This new service is also available to our neighbouring practices that have registered with us to use our OOH service.

This is a great chance to be involved in an independent practice surrounded by a motivated supportive team helping you to do the work you are trained to do.

Company

VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities  giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked  with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
