Chestergates Veterinary Specialists

We operate a leading RCVS specialist-led, multi-disciplinary referral hospital based in Chester. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic cardiology nurse to join our existing day team of nurses, interns and specialists in various disciplines including anaesthesia, cardiology, imaging, internal medicine, neurology, orthopaedic surgery and soft tissue surgery.

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual for this rewarding role. We are looking for an RVN with an interest in cardiology and (after a period of induction training) who is confident supporting patients during cardiology procedures. This is a varied role that encompasses helping in the management of outpatients and inpatients, applying monitoring equipment such as Holter monitors, and assisting with minimally invasive surgery. There is also potential for the right candidate to develop nurse clinics for ongoing cases. We would support a nurse who wanted to pursue further qualifications in cardiology, such as the VTS.

The successful candidate will have great communication skills to ensure our clients and referring practices receive excellent customer service. You will be patient and caring towards our often-fragile patients and support them through their diagnostic investigations. You will have the ability to work on your own at times but also possess great teamwork skills to allow the cardiology team to communicate and work effectively (as well as all other disciplines within the hospital). You will support our clinician using your computer skills, including sending ECG recordings to be reported, external blood tests, etc. Our cardiology nurses work closely with the reception team and our referral coordinator to triage the referral caseload as well as making regular wellbeing phone call assessments with our long-term chronic cases.

As well as a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 PA dependent on experience, we have number of benefits as part of the CVS group:
  • Professional memberships funded (RCVS & VDS).
