Night Veterinary Surgeon | Buckinghamshire| 7 Days On 14 Days Off

GVC are providing recruitment support to a busy veterinary hospital who are actively recruiting for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Buckinghamshire.

The Practice:
    
As a Night Veterinary Surgeon, you will be confident and experienced, and a capable all-rounder who strives for high clinical standards in general practice and enjoys the challenge of emergency practice and critical care cases. You will cover all aspects of OOH care including consulting, emergency surgeries and inpatient management. A certificate in ECC, Diagnostic Imaging or Internal Medicine would be advantageous, but not essential.

You will be supported by a night nurse and a twilight nurse, working seamlessly with the day team, handing over to a dedicated in-patient vet and ward nurse team, and ensuring excellent continuity of care. The hospital also covers the OOH cases of 8 small to medium practices, accepting transfers of in-patients and seeing emergency appointments.

The hospital boasts separate cat, dog, exotic and isolation wards, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy with plans for CT scanner expansion, and in house laboratory, with full-time lab technicians, multiple theatres, procedure rooms and prep rooms, multi-parameter monitoring and Bair-huggers in every theatre, Ligasure electrocautery devices and dedicated recovery nurse rolls, dedicated dental suite with DR digital X-Ray, all with unrivalled patient support,

The Role:

•    Salary of £65,000 per annum +
•    13 hour nights (19:00 – 08:00)
•    7 days on, 14 days off
•    5 days CPD minimum with uncapped budget
•    BVA, BSAVA, RCVS, VDS paid memberships
•    Clinical freedom of cases, whilst guiding towards gold standard care
•    No sales-target related pressure
•    Supported and funded clinical advancement to Certificate level
•    Rotas in advance with accommodation of weekend commitments

To be considered for this position, you must have the following or clearly be able to demonstrate your suitability for the role by showing:
 
•    Veterinary qualification from an accredited university recognised in the UK
•    Up to date CPD
•    Relevant language skills – English
•    Licenced to provide veterinary care in the UK – RCVS registered
•    Right to work in the UK
