Mixed Veterinary Surgeon | Scottish Borders | Competitive Salary | 4.5 Day Week

GVC are providing recruitment support to a busy mixed veterinary practice who are actively recruiting for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon in the Scottish Borders.

The Practice:
    
As a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon, you will be joining a close-knit team as an enthusiastic, friendly Companion Animal and Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon. The practice has a solid farm base and an ever-expanding quality companion animal component. The main site is well equipped including a DR x-ray, new ultrasound, dental x-ray, bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, and multi-parameters, with a growing orthopaedic caseload and can perform some advanced soft tissue procedures in-house too. You will also find a purpose-built rehabilitation and stem cell referral unit and a hydrotherapy underwater treadmill, and a purpose-built Large Animal unit that includes two Easi-scan ultrasound scanners, bull and tup fertility testing equipment and in-house hospitalisation facilities including a calf warmer alongside all the usual equipment.

Out of hours work is well supported with a dedicated nurse on call with the vet to assist where required. There is no routine weekend consulting, and you will have Friday off after your weekend on call.

Based in the stunning Scottish Borders, which is only 45 minutes from Edinburgh and an hour from Newcastle; you will discover all the access but without the price tag for property and a wealth of amazing outdoor pursuits on your doorstep. You will also be fortunate enough bring your dogs to work should you have a four-legged friend!

The Role:

•    Salary between £35,000 and £75,000 per annum DOE
•    4.5 days per week, 8.45am - 5 pm (half day 8.45am - 1pm) with 1 in 5 OOHs
•    5 weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays and Birthday Leave

•    Veterinary qualification from an accredited university recognised in the UK
•    Up to date CPD
•    Relevant language skills – English
•    Licenced to provide veterinary care in the UK – RCVS registered
•    Right to work in the UK
