Are you looking for a unique position? Here at Endell Equine Hospital in Salisbury we have a vacancy for an experienced Groom/ Equine Patient Care Assistant to take that next step and join our busy Equine hospital in Salisbury.

We see a wide and varied caseload and the successful applicant would work within this team of vets, nurses and yard staff as well as providing some nursing support to the team of ambulatory vets based from the hospital. PCAs receive training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to best care for our patients.

The successful applicant must be proactive, hardworking and motivated with good horse handling skills and although some experience within a veterinary setting would be useful, in-house training in all aspects of the equine veterinary nursing will be provided.

You will be passionate about horse welfare, have a high attention to detail, be hardworking and thrive on being part of a busy team. The successful candidate will demonstrate 5 star stable management skills and be confident in working with a range of horses.

Good opportunities to expand your knowledge and extensive on the job training will be given. A competitive salary and flexible benefits package is offered. You will need to live within 15/20 mins drive of the clinic. This role is part of the out of hours rota (1 in 4 night and weekend duties).

At Endell Equine Hospital, we encourage the continued professional development within our clinical and non-clinical teams, and, upon successful completion of your probation period, there will be potential to progress to a Student Veterinary Nurse position in the future with day release to our preferred Nursing course at Hartpury College.

You must fulfil the following requirements:

Have an excellent command of written and spoken English

Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work

Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade A – C within subjects such as English, Maths and Science.

Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK
