Referral Nurse & Patient Care Assistant Team Manager

The Ralph is a large independent multidisciplinary specialist referral centre in the southeast of England. Our Head of Nursing has been with us since before we opened in February 2019. Having done a wonderful job in helping us get to where we are, they are moving on to new challenges. We will very much miss one of our original Ralphers, yet we are genuinely supportive of this personal decision.

We are using the opportunity to do some tweaking of our clinical management structure. As such we are looking to appoint a new Nurse and Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Team Manager.

Role on offer:

The role on offer will be largely focused on people support, management and development. You will oversee and support our large team of Senior Nurses in our truly multidisciplinary referral hospital. You will help develop their leadership talents as they manage their teams and clinical areas. Likewise, our future PCA Team Leader.

Together you will be responsible for ensuring the performance and accountability of our nurses, nurse interns and PCAs. Our Nurse Training Coordinator and our PCA Training Assistant, among others will closely support you. You will also play a critical role in safeguarding the wellbeing of our nurses, nurse interns and PCAs. Team Ralph currently includes approximately sixty-five nurses/nurse interns and more than twenty PCAs.

You will play a leading role in nurse, nurse intern and PCA recruitment. There will also be some operational aspects to the role. Most notably overseeing the rota for our nurses and PCAs. As part of our clinical management team, you will work closely with our Clinical and Assistant Clinical Directors, our Clinical Operations Manager and our Hospital Director, among others.

This is a full-time weekday role. You will participate in our clinical management team’s weekend and Bank Holiday on-call rota providing remote support to the on-call Senior Nurse.

Requirements:

The role is likely most suitable for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with prior related experience, ideally in a referral setting. However, we are very open to hearing from RVNs with no prior similar experience. We are also keen to hear from others of whatever background from within and outside the veterinary sector. Above all, our key requirement is for someone whose personal values are closely aligned with our core values and workplace culture.

Benefits:

• Salary: £40,000-50,000, subject to experience.

Marlow:

Marlow is located on the River Thames between Henley and Windsor. This is a beautiful area with lovely walks, water-based activities and more. Our hospital is just off the A404 with easy access from the M4 and M40 motorways and is close to London.
