About Us

Unicorn is a group of three practices that has been in the Southampton area for over 30 years. We have a good client base with a strong focus on patient welfare and high clinical standards. The practice fosters a very supportive and caring environment where real emphasis is placed on ensuring a great work/life balance for all staff.

The Fairfield surgery is on the outskirts of the idyllic South Downs with rivers and forests, while also being a 20-minute drive from Winchester. The Park surgery is a stone's throw from Southampton Common and has a good selection of shops and restaurants. You can also easily hop on a train to be in Central London, or head in the opposite direction and explore the beautiful New Forest with all its nature walks and village pubs. Our Ashurst surgery is located in the middle of The New Forest with a pub and train station right next door. Each area is home to excellent schools and are all lovely places to set up home.

The practices are equipped with digital X-ray, in-house haematology and biochemistry including SDMA, T4, and other extended panels, endoscopy, ultrasound with echocardiography, capnography, tonometry, ECG, and a new K-Laser.

We have a fantastic team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, and Veterinary Care Assistants, along with a dedicated Support Team. We encourage career development and all interests and specialties are welcomed and supported. We have Nurses with focus on behaviour and nutrition.

Applicant Requirements

We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in management and financial performance, to take a lead role within the practice. To be successful in this role you will be a team player, who has a great work ethic and shares our passion for delivering patient and client care of the highest standard. Experience in a management position is desired but not essential as you will have support from your area director to help you excel in this role.
