Haygate Vets are looking for a Deputy Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team at our Wellington site, on a 12-month contract. At the end of the contract, there is the potential for a permanent RVN role to become available.

  • Salary banding £23,500 - £35,000 fair graded pay scale with regards to experience and qualifications. Can be discussed prior to application
  • 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays 8am-5pm
  • Rotas on a 3 week rolling mixture of early and late shifts on 4 and 5 day working weeks
  • No OOH but own emergency service offered on site with potential for ECC locuming
  • Schedule 3 encouraged and training available for surgical rotation, nurse consults and medical nursing
  • Busy practice with 4 sites feeding in to Wellington with certificate holders on site for Surgery, Cardiology and Medicine
  • Wellington offers nurse consultation room, separate wards and theatres, high spec laboratory equipment, multiparameter and suntech BP machines, Bair huggers, multiple drip pumps, digital x-ray and advanced ultrasound


We require a motivated person to join our team of RVNs, SVN's and PCA's. Some of the duties include:
  • Advocating and encouraging nurse clinics and schedule 3 procedures
  • Supporting and coaching our SVN's & PCA's.
  • Leading and improving our inpatient medical care
  • Ensuring the smooth day to day running of our practice
  • Auditing and working towards RCVS Practice standard awards
