Senior/Head RVN Vets4Pets Kilmarnock

Are you a natural born leader? Would you enjoy helping develop our future nurses? Do you want to work within a fun-loving and friendly team?
We are looking for a registered Veterinary Nurse with a ‘little bit of extra' as well at least two years' experience to join our Kilmarnock clinic in a senior position. Our clinical team have a wealth of experience and you will have the full support of our RVN business partner who ‘gets you'. At Vets4Pets Kilmarnock we believe in the development of our nurses and this is evident across our 3 practice team. We have nurses trained in acupuncture, pain management, behaviour and schedule 3 surgical procedures. Our nursing team are very much able to do what they do best within our practices whether that is building client relationships through clinics, monitoring anaesthetics or having the time to give first class patient care to their in-patients. We also listen to our nurses hence some of the fancy equipment we have, read through to find out more!

A little bit about us
We are a team of over fifty colleagues across three practices in Ayrshire who strive each and every day to deliver clinical excellence as well as create the best possible client experience. How do we do this? We believe in team work and we live each day by our practice values, we treat others how we would like to be treated, we have each other's backs, we have fun, we laugh (a lot), we have excellent communication, we encourage each other and most importantly we allow one another balance, between work and life. We know each person is different and what inspires and motivates one person, doesn't necessarily do the same for someone else, that's why we tailor our packages and rotas to each individual colleague to make it personal. We believe in being flexible, understanding and compassionate and we pride ourselves on this. We truly have a wonderful team so finding the ‘right' person is very important to us.

"I have been at Vets4pets, Irvine for almost 5 years. I returned to veterinary nursing after a career break and was fortunate enough to work at a practice that gives you all the support, training and patience, you feel you need to assist you in your role. Managers are always keen to hear any new ideas, improvements you want to put forward and to discuss your personal continuous professional development. The Nursing team is made-up from a variety of backgrounds and experience and someone normally has knowledge of an area if you are ever stuck which is always reassuring to know.

I love that everyone works to deliver the best service to our clients and pets. We are a sociable bunch and get together whenever we can to relax and celebrate. We all appreciate that the role can be pressured at times and aim to add a bit of fun to the day where we can. I work part-time and appreciate the flexibility it gives me in managing my work-life balance."

More about our clinical team
We have twelve Vets and twelve RVN's across our three practices and with that comes a whole load of experience. In one of our practices alone we have 82 years worth of nursing experience amongst 5 RVN's! The best thing about us is we have everyone to lean on, even though we may not all be in one place at the same time. Three of our Vets are GPD trained Clinical Lead's and we have four RVN's who are clinical coaches. We are passionate about training and development and always want to be one step ahead - we want to stand out from our competitors.

What we want from you
We ask you still have your nursing mojo, you are passionate about the industry and want to make a difference. We want you to lead by example and demonstrate ‘out of this world' nursing skills. We ask you are a team player and not afraid to get stuck in. Ideally you will have at least two years' experience or experience in a senior position. You must be able to have fun and create a positive working environment through your energy - oh and also like a good night out with the team! Freedom and progression.

You will have access to great equipment to fulfil your role such as a multi-parameter, fluid pump, dental X-Ray, blood pressure monitor and Ultrasound. You will also have a forward thinking and supportive team to help you progress.
