Job Details
Are you an experienced Vet who is looking for the next step in their career and looking to share your knowledge with those just starting in the Vet world? If so, we have a new opportunity as a Clinical Lead at our Bishopbriggs Vets4Pets practice!
The practice is located to the North of the town and only a 20-minute drive North of the city centre of Glasgow. The international airport in Glasgow is within a 30-minute drive of the practice which makes it the ideal location for international vets returning home for holidays or is an easy gateway for a city break in Europe during your time off.
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who ideally has 4+ years' experience working in Small Animal practice, has solid surgical skills, and the desire to lead the team clinically as the new Clinical Lead. This position will be fully supported by our Practice Director who has over 18 years clinical experience and has run the practice since it opened in 2011.
Our team is currently made up of 4 FT vets, 2 FT RVNs, 2 PT RVNs, 1 Practice Manager and 3 receptionists, which we find is the perfect balance for ensuring you always get breaks and time in the diary to catch up on admin. Ideally we are looking for a full time Clinical Lead working around 35 hours per week, with 1 in 3 Saturdays, however we are open to discuss around the hours should you be interested in a part time opportunity.
At Bishopbriggs Vets4Pets we are an RCVS PSS (and have been for the past 11 years), an RVN training practice, a Silver Cat Friendly practice and we are currently working towards the Investors in Environment award. To support all of this we have excellent facilities and equipment within the practice which includes a full in-house Lab (Lasercyte and Catalyst), an oxygen chamber, ultrasound, digital x-ray and many more. We are also about to add to our services with a Tonometer later this month, December, ready for the new year.
We work on 15-minute consults, with regular time blocked out to catch up on paperwork, in addition we also set aside time for lab results, repeat prescriptions and vet discharge appointments to ensure that you never get behind and can leave on time at the end of your shift as we value your personal life outside of work. Our nurses also conduct daily consults in practice to assist the vets including 2nd vaccinations, microchips, bandage checks just to name a few.
As well as a great practice and team environment, we also provide additional benefits including a paid one-hour lunch break, access to a colleague food pantry, an extra day off for your birthday, private healthcare contribution, and a live app to track your rota and holidays. Depending on your experience level we are offering a salary in the region of £50-£60k per annum.
