Veterinary Surgeon
Mapperley Vets4Pets

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Mapperley Vets4Pets. This vacancy is with a well-established practice that has been working in the community for over 15 years! We also have the Gold ISFM Cat Friendly Accreditation. However, we as a practice are very passionate about development so if you are at the beginning steps of your career, please do consider our practice.
The practice benefits from great support within the organisation but its main strength is being run by local people delivering the best practice possible for the local community. Liz and her experienced team of 3 full time vets are supported by a wonderful team of Kerry the HVN / PM and 6 fellow Nurses and a separate team on reception. Each member of the team is highly valued and due to everyone's voice being listened to this not only creates a friendly, trusting atmosphere but allows for everyone to shape the care provided to our patients
The practice is lovely and spacious with separate dog, cat and rabbit wards and has lots of market leading equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental station and dental x-ray, extensive in-house lab, laser, endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment.
What makes this role different for you
You will also be pivotal to the practice; you will work with our colleagues to ensure best practice is continued in all aspects of the care we provide.
This is a full-time role and will inclusive of weekends, weekends will be worked on a 1:5 basis. There is no OOH's and so when you are finished for the day you are always able to rest and recharge.

However, we are passionate about allowing people to create a work life balance that suits them, so if you are looking at a more part time position please get in touch as we will be happy to discuss this.

We believe in everyone achieving their goals, so ensure clinical independence for our colleagues and that we encourage all CPD and can discuss supporting any Certificates in a continued search for improving best practice.
As a practice we are always looking for ways to move forward, being endlessly ambitious, and we hope that you can join us and continue to demonstrate our passion for care of our patients.
In addition to a rewarding role in a superb location which has excellent transport links, you can also expect to receive:
  • Competitive salary dependant on experience
  • No out of hours allowing for a healthy work / life balance
  • Paid professional memberships including RCVS and VDS
  • Generous CPD budget and support for long term development (including certificates)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Colleague reward hub - exclusive offers and discounts online and on the high street, including 20% off at Pets at Home, Vets4Pets and the Groom Room

What you can offer us

You will ideally share our high standards and be confident and capable. We would love someone who could bring new ideas and ambition to the team as we are always looking for ways to improve. As a Practice we believe in treating everyone equally and creating a supportive non-judgement environment.

We are looking for an experienced team player, who will be enthusiastic and self-motivated. You will help continue our positive work environment by support the whole team to push towards their career goals.
We understand we are all at different stages in our career so if you are looking for your first, third or last role in a practice we hope that you will consider our practice to continue that journey.
We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference so if you meet our role requirements, we'd love to hear from you.
If you would like to hear more please contact and some one will get back to you within 1 working day
