Head and Head is a well-established mixed practice in Helston, Cornwall.

We have been treating our loyal clients for over 150 years!!

The practice was founded by the first qualified vet in Cornwall!

We treat a variety of species including seals. We currently have a lovely friendly team of 6 mixed vets, 1 small animal vet and 2 ATTs.

We are looking for a mixed vet to join our team. Ideally, we would like a candidate that has been qualified over 1-2 years. Our current team works amazingly hard and they are extremely dedicated.

Our vets are happy to support and discuss cases to ensure that all our patients and clients get excellent treatment and care.

The job role would be spilt 50% small and 50% farm/equine with job variety shared fairly amongst the team.  

We like to socialise outside of work too, coasteering, paddleboarding, meals out and exploring the amazing Cornish coasts with our dogs.  

We run a clinical club every 3-4 weeks, for vets and nurses to discuss various clinical aspects and this helps to continuously progress the team. You would be working within a skilled supportive team consisting of 6 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 2 ANAs. We are proud to have been a nurse training practice for over 25 years, providing our nurse students excellent training, support, and competency skills in order to reach their RVN status.

Our practice has 2 modern theatres, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental) and a fully kitted laboratory.

The successful candidate would need to maintain the high clinical standards for our RCVS accredited practice. 

• This is a full-time position over 4.5 days

• Salary 30K to 45K dependent on experience

• Out of hours rota 1 every 7 with Saturday mornings

• CPD actively encouraged. £1750 per annum

• RCVS, VDS paid
