Experienced Operating Veterinary Surgeon required at The Rowe Veterinary Group, Bradley Stoke

 The Role

We have a great opportunity for a Part time experienced surgically biased vet to join our team. You will have the opportunity to experience an interesting and varied caseload in a supportive and collaborative hospital environment.

We are looking for someone who will thrive in a bustling hospital environment as part of a large friendly team; however, we appreciate that work-life balance is a priority for our staff. Over the last few years, we have been proactive in creating a positive, supportive workplace. We have made several changes to ensure vets get their lunch breaks and leave on time. These include employing twilight vets, removing the last consult of the day, structuring the rota to allow for admin time and driving a culture that challenges those who stay beyond their finish time rather than championing it.

You will work 2 or 3 days per week operating all day, working alongside the team to train, lead and support our team to develop their surgical skills. You will work a 1:8 weekend 8AM-6PM alongside two other vets covering daytime emergencies at the hospital.

Salary

The salary for this role is up to £63,000 (FTE) depending on experience.

About Us

Our tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital provides excellent facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy and more. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence whilst also providing a patient appropriate compassionate service for our clients.

Our team has a big focus on coaching and development in the hospital and we are looking for someone who enjoys developing others. We encourage personal development (including funding certificates where desired). As part of the team at Rowe, you will benefit from access to our referral department who offer services in Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Oncology, Imaging, Neurology and Dentistry.

About the Team and Culture

You will join a well-established team of 10 other Veterinary Surgeons, a strong, experienced nursing team, and a fantastic support team. We also have our own dedicated and experienced OOH team providing continuity for patients. We encourage a collaborative working culture where we can share ideas and support each other. Several of our vets have Certificates in medicine and surgery, whilst others are currently working towards them. We enjoy supporting our new graduates and have EMS students on a regular basis enabling us to give back to the veterinary community.

Applicant Requirements

The ideal candidate would have experience working in a busy first opinion hospital and would be looking to build on their surgical abilities as part of a large and collaborative team. They would possess or be working towards their small animal surgical certificate or have significant previous practical experience. We are looking for someone to work alongside our current surgical lead expanding and developing the surgical services Rowe can offer.
