Bracken Veterinary Centre are looking for a Small Animal Vet to join our team on a Maternity Cover contract commencing from April 2023 for 6-12 months.

We are a busy practice who carry out lots of charity work for our local animals, so no two days are ever the same! Our well-equipped practice (including CR7 dental x-ray and Logic R7 ultrasound with linear probe!) will allow you to continually develop your skills in your field, all whilst working alongside a dedicated team of 5 vets, 4 RVN's & 3 SVN's.

We're extremely proud of our team, not only due to their drive and passion, but also due to their growth and development. Amongst our vets, we have an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine and Veterinary Anaesthesia and Vets doing certificates in surgery, diagnostic imaging and medicine, so you will always have someone on hand to help you develop your skills further. We are also an RCVS accredited Small Animal General Practice with RCVS awards in Client Service (Outstanding), Patient Consultation Service (Outstanding) and Diagnostic Service (Good), our clients are at the heart of everything we do!

What we are looking for?

We are looking ideally for someone to work full or part time, to include at least 2 evening shifts (7pm finish). You would need to join our Saturday morning rota (1:4, pro-rata for working hours).

Our ideal candidate would also be competent in routine surgeries and consulting, however we do have the capacity to support and develop a newer graduate who would like to learn with us. We would also be happy to consider a vet who would like to carry out consult – only duties.

As our newest team member you will also receive the following benefits:
  • A competitive salary up to £50,000 dependent on experience
  • Holiday entitlement pro rata
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Access to Mental Health and wellbeing champions, over 300 across CVS.
  • Excellent colleague discount on pet treatments and products, including free consults
  • Opportunity to join our industry leading ShareSave scheme and share in the success of our business
  • Perkbox
  • A range of other flexible benefits such as Cycle to Work, Gymflex and more!
