Registered Veterinary Night Nurse required at Pride Vets at Night

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Night Nurse to join our friendly team here at Pride Vets at Night, Derby!

Rotating through ICU, small dogs, large dogs and cats, with the addition of isolation and exotic patients, our Night Nurses really get involved with a varied case load of small animals.

They assist the Night Veterinary Surgeon with any medical or surgical procedures that need to be performed and also teach the Veterinary Surgeon students how to manage patients overnight.

Under the guidance of the Veterinary Surgeon and in accordance with individual experience, our nurses can perform schedule 3 procedures.

Responsibilities are numerous and varied so a great deal of flexibility and patience is required, in addition to being able to maintain records accurately and administer medications correctly.

Salary for the role is from £28,200 depending on experience + Relocation allowance up to £1000 available if required.

About Us

Pride Veterinary Centre offers a range of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our diagnostics and treatment are second to none and we have many highly trained and experienced nurses to ensure that our patients receive the very best treatment.

We strive to deliver world class patient care and our fantastic facilities provide a superb care environment, including 13 consultation rooms, 7 hospital wards, 5 theatres, full advanced imaging suite, 3 ultrasound rooms, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills and dedicated chemo & radio-iodine treatment rooms define the setting.

About the Team and Culture

An exciting opportunity has arisen here at Pride Veterinary Centre. If you’re looking to expand your knowledge in emergency critical care then this could be the position for you! Working 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off, you will be in the same team every time, so you really get the opportunity to bond as a cohesive force.

Night work doesn’t include any of the regular appointments or animal MOTs. It’s very dependent on what arrives at the Practice on any given evening, or what cases there are already within our wards requiring care, so this role would suit someone who likes both a varied and reactive environment.

The team currently consists of 1 Vet, 4 Nurses, 2 Kennel Assistants and 1 intern. We also have Veterinary Surgeon students on rotation from the University of Nottingham.
