Penmellyn Veterinary Group has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN to join our well-established team as the Deputy Head Nurse.

This is a great career opportunity combining management alongside a clinical role and overseeing our student nursing team.

This role involves leading by example working alongside our supportive clinical team.

Our Deputy Head Nurse currently works a four-day week with a 1:4 Saturday weekend commitment.

We do have a flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours so this can be discussed during the recruitment process, but all nurses must work at least one later finish of 6.30 per week.

About Us

Penmellyn’s practices are in the heart of Cornwall, and we strive to provide first class care to our team, clients, and pets alike.

With our group of 25 full time Veterinary Surgeons and 50 veterinary nurses across our sites, we have an exceptionally supportive and forward-thinking team whom we are immensely proud of.

We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art diagnostics equipment to include a CT scanner, ultrasound, digital radiography.

We are excited that we are about to expand our hospital to include 4 modern and up to date theatres, a diagnostics suite, a minor procedures room, cat friendly ward with its own examination room, a large kennel area with 35 kennels, and separate cat and dog isolation facilities.

Company

Penmellyn currently has full in-patient, theatre, hospital, and isolation facilities. We are fully equipped with mobile DR, ultrasound, gastro and endoscope, powers floats and arthroscopy at the clinic. The hospital is based in beautiful mid Cornwall, only a short driving distance of gorgeous beaches and countryside. Newquay airport is less than 10 minutes’ drive away.

We have a dedicated team of 4.75 Equine Vets, including an internal medicine certificate holder who is also one of the Clinical Directors of Penmellyn. We also have dedicated Equine Nurses, Administrators and Grooms.
