Veterinary Surgeon required at Vine Tree Vets

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Small Animal Vet to join us at our practice in the heart of the Wye Valley.

The role would suit a new graduate or more experienced vet looking to develop as part of a caring and compassionate team.

Full or part time applicants will be considered.

The full-time role comprises a four-day working week from 8:30am-6:30pm with one 5pm finish. We undertake our own out of hours on a 1:5 weekend and weekday rota; we feel that providing this service is integral to our personal approach to our patients and clients in their times of greatest need and is something our clients appreciate hugely.

New or recent graduates will be supported with a second vet available out of hours for as long as needed. Certificates are actively encouraged and supported alongside this, with a generous CPD budget of £1,300 per annum.

Package

The salary for this role is up to £50,000 depending on experience.
Relocation allowance of up to £5,000 for the right candidate.

About Us

Vine Tree Vets is located in the beautiful Wye Valley, within easy reach of the Forest of Dean, Bath, Gloucester, Bristol, and the Cotswolds. Vine Tree has an extensive small animal case load; however, we also work with small holders including a private rescue for exotic animals Marmosets to Mountain Lions, giving you the chance to treat species many never see!

Vine Tree Vets is a purpose built, modern practice that was converted from a pub in 2015. We have two consulting rooms, one operating theatre, an imaging room (including digital x ray, dental x ray, rigid and flexible bronchoscope, endoscope, and ultrasound), a main prep room, a cat only prep room leading to cattery and a separate dog ward. We are looking to extend our existing clinic and also purchase a second site in nearby Monmouth to expand our client base further.

About the Team and Culture

The team at Vine Tree is made up of 5 vets, 7 nurses, and 3 receptionists; the longest team member has been with us for over 25 years! Our head vet holds a certificate in small animal surgery, along with our head nurse having completed the degree in advanced nursing. One of our junior vets is looking to start her certificate in medicine soon.

Our Vine Tree family is at the heart of everything we do, and our priority is to create a wonderful team atmosphere where everyone looks after each other regardless of their role and is something we pride ourselves on. We understand the significance of supporting mental health within the veterinary profession and this is of particular importance to us. The team regularly get together to explore the outdoors, with some of our team members having a strong passion for field sports and gundogs. We also enjoy evenings out to the theatre, pub nights and trips to the garden centre!!
