Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse, Clent Hills Vets, Hagley

The Role

Here at Clent Hills Vets, we are looking for a Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse to cover Maternity. The role will include nurse consults, assisting Vets with procedures, monitoring anaesthetics, diagnostic imaging, and inpatient care.

The rota will include working up to 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. The typical shift pattern is 8:00am-4:00pm or 11:30am-7:30pm. The weekend rota is on a shared basis and there are no out of hours involved.

In addition to the RVN role:

  • Manage the branch nursing team and rotas
  • Manage stocking levels.
  • Ensure smooth running on a day to day basis
  • Maintain membership with the RCVS.
  • Attend the adequate hours of CPD as required by the RCVS.
  • Fulfil the obligations of the rota, sick cover/on call rota & bank holiday cover.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests made by the Partners, Associate Vets or other members of the management team.
  • Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, it is the duty of every employee to take reasonable care of themselves and others at work. This also includes taking care of equipment and reporting immediately any items not working

Salary

The salary for this role is up to £29,000 depending on experience.

About Us

We are a 12 Vet equivalent, 4-branch small animals practice based in Worcestershire. We have a happy, forward-thinking team of Vets, Nurses, and Support Staff as well as state-of-the-art facilities. These include sterile operating theatres, and separate dog/cat kennels at Hagley, and all practices use digital & dental x-rays, ultrasound, and endoscopy equipment.

We hold regular social events for staff including a Christmas and summer party!

Applicant Requirements 

We are looking for a highly motivated, forward thinking, and proactive experienced registered veterinary nurse with strong communication and people skills in order to lead the team to deliver exceptional clinical and client care.

The candidate must be a good team player, able to work on their own initiative, adaptable, flexible and have excellent all-round nursing skills. Leadership experience in a similar role preferred but training and full support is available for the right candidate.

You will be working alongside the management team in leading the nursing team to provide exceptional care for pets and clients alike. If you are motivated and want to bring fresh ideas to a team that is committed to animal welfare you will thrive in this fast-paced and well-established practice.
