At Vetfinders we are helping a practice in South Essex find their next hire. They have a new opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced Vet to join their team at this Independent, small animal practice

Role

  • No OOH’s.
  • 4 days pw, 8.30am to 6.30pm
  • 1:3 Saturdays, 8.30am-12pm
  • Full or Part Time can be discussed

This independent practice provides excellence in all aspects of pet care. As a practice, they require an understanding, enthusiastic and patient team player. You must be confident and capable of carrying out surgical and medical procedures.

They are looking for either an experienced or a new graduate vet, who has the same amount of passion as them, their patients and clients. They offer a state-of-art place to work and a supportive, caring culture, so you can flourish and have real responsibility in our independent practice. The head vet is also completing the VetGDP advisor training to add to the support within the practice.

There is a great work-life balance. Vets work a 4-day week, with the same day off each week. There is a 1:3 Saturday’s mornings rota, plus a long weekend every 3 weeks in addition to the regular day off.

The practice has the flexibility in their diary to support you during surgeries, they won’t let you fly solo until you’re fully ready. They finish consults at 6pm, so there is time built in to deal with any emergencies at the end of the day, AND there’s actually a proper lunch break!!

They do look after their own non- critical inpatients, one evening a week and on 1:3 weekends, but all critical cases and new emergencies are covered by our local OOHs surgery.

Also, you will access to a paid new graduate Vet programme for additional support via an external group

Do you want to get back to enjoying the aspects of being a vet that you love? Come and join this forward-thinking vibrant practice.

  • RCVS registered and qualified
  • Possess the right to work in the UK
  • Compassion and empathy

  • Pension scheme

The Practice

At Church View Veterinary Clinic, they are always on the look-out for new additions to their friendly, enthusiastic and caring team of vets and nurses. They are a local independent practice owned by Vets, who make decisions based on client and animal needs.

The practice has grown rapidly since it opened in 2009, when the owner decided to open their own practice and do things a little differently than their previous roles. There are now three Vets (and want to expand to 4), 2 experienced RVNs’, 2 SVNs’, 3 receptionists and 3 Animal Care Assistants. The team all look after each other, work hard but have a giggle at the same time!

They are passionate about the patients, for example all the euthanasia’s are sedated first. They would love someone to join the team who feels the same way about veterinary practice as they do. The practice has state-of-art equipment including laparoscopy, sevoflurane for all ops, ultrasound and bronchoscopy. There is a huge variety of cases and your career will develop rapidly. There are more than enough interesting cases to support a medical, surgical, ophthalmology or imaging certificate.

This practice is a 3-vet, happily independent, small animal practice based in Southminster, Essex, only 10 minutes from the pretty coastal town of Burnham-on-Crouch famous for its sailing and swimming, but only just over an hour from Central London by train.

This is a rare opportunity to be involved in an independent practice surrounded by a motivated supportive team helping you to do the work you are trained to do or get back to loving being a vet again!

Company

VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities  giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked  with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
