The University of Surrey is located on a beautiful, leafy campus in Guildford, just 30 miles from London and benefiting from excellent rail and road connections. The School of Veterinary Medicine operates a distributed model for final year teaching, and we partner with several veterinary practices, colleges, charities, and local research institutes to deliver teaching throughout the undergraduate curriculum.

The School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking to recruit a Veterinary Partnerships and Animal Resources Manager on a fixed term basis (13 months in the first instance) to support the fantastic range of partner sites that we work with and to assist in the management of our onsite animal resources. Our partner sites include clinical and non-clinical sites for the delivery of Years 1-4 teaching and clinical practices for the delivery of final year intramural rotations (IMR).

The successful candidate will administer and coordinate the management of activities relating to partner placements, such as visits for audits, coordinating payments, feedback collation and assisting with delivery of partner engagement activities. The post-holder will report to the Head of Veterinary Partnerships and Animal Resources, deputising for them when necessary, ensuring that the School’s educational resources meet the quality standards of relevant professional bodies.

Applicants must have experience of UK veterinary practice, and ideally will have had some managerial experience. We seek an individual with excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills and a willingness to work with colleagues and external partners to deliver high quality veterinary educational resources; with this in mind, some travel to partner organisations locally and throughout the UK will be required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinary focused colleague to develop a career in the professional administration and governance of veterinary workplace-based learning. Informal enquiries are welcomed and should be addressed to Claire Gotto, Head of Veterinary Partnerships and Animal Resources, on c.gotto@surrey.ac.uk

In addition to competitive salary package, we offer a generous pension scheme and annual leave entitlement, development opportunities, relocation assistance (where applicable) along with a fantastic working environment and team spirit.
