Veterinary Surgeon

Mansfield Vets4Pets

Salary £35,000 - £65,000 Depending On Experience (New Graduates Welcome)

Full Time or Part Time Hours.

A rare opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgeon to join our team at Mansfield Vets4Pets. One of our wonderful vets is off to pastures new.
We opened in 2003 and we are one of the original Vets4Pets and have grown into a 7 vet practice.

One of our practice partners, Richard, has been here from the beginning having 30 years’ experience and has nurtured the practice into what it is now, with the help of his wonderful team.

Mansfield is a fantastic place to live. We are very close to the M1 and A1 but also have lots of areas of natural beauty - Sherwood Forest is on our door step. There are lots of fantastic dog walking places, such as Clumber Park, Rufford Abbey, Sherwood Pines and Newstead Abbey. We are close to cities such as Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire but also have lots of surrounding countryside, for example the Peak District. We boast lots of lovely cafes and restaurants for socialising. Mansfield is very child friendly, with amazing schools and plenty of family amenities. Overall Mansfield has plenty to offer people of all ages with a wide range of interests.

Our team consists of seven RVN’s, student nurses, four receptionists and two practice administrators. Our seven vet team have a range of experience and skill sets and are very supportive of each other. Chloe, who has worked with us for 8.5 years was our original kennel girl and is very client focused. Claire has been with us for 7 years, loves her surgery and keeps us all sane! We supported and funded Elena through her Ophthalmology certificate and she is doing internal and external referrals on a regular basis. We have known Holly, our most recently graduated vet, since she was 12 years old!

We have a very varied and interesting caseload and have scope to accommodate all clinical interests. Sick pet consults are 20 minutes with a 10 minute catch up slot on the hour and built in admin time. Our dedicated nurses are utilised to the full with nurse consults running all day.

We pride ourselves on our customer and patient care and have a wonderful client base who have been coming to us since we opened, many of whom are on their 2nd generation of pets.

We have zero tolerance for rude and aggressive clients and we fully support you with difficult cases.

We are ideally looking for full time, based on a 40 hour week, 4 days a week, however we are open to flexibility and would consider part time hours. Our generous weekend rota is shared equally between all the vets, with additional days off to compensate.

We are happy to support you if you are a new or recent graduate, someone who wishes to work towards a certificate or someone who already has a certificate and can assist in our future development.

We would also welcome anyone from outside of the UK to apply for this role, but to be successful you would need to be RCVS registered and have previous experience working in a UK Veterinary Practice. Sponsorship costs would be covered by the practice if your application is successful.

We can offer you 5 weeks holiday per year with company perks such as 20% colleague discount at Pets at Home and we only cover our costs when caring for your own pets.

Salary is varied depending on your experience and skills but we aim to be generous and competitive.

Please send your CV to Rebecca via the APPLY button.
