The Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated and experienced team of 9.5 first-opinion vets. A combined day first opinion and night ECC role would be supported if stretching your ECC muscles would interest you!

Our vets work a 4-day week and enjoy a varied, interesting caseload. With dedicated surgery days and time built into each day for admin and communication, the emphasis is on excellence in care for both our patients and clients. Our vets are supported by a fantastic team of RVNs, SVNs and NAs.

With only one in four weekends worked, supported by an ECC team overnight, and a dedicated in-patient vet during the day, the work-life balance is great.

Salary

The salary for this role is up to £60,000 depending on experience plus up to £5,000 relocation allowance if required.

About Us

We are a 24-hour hospital practice in vibrant, fun, and diverse Brighton just a short drive from the beautiful Sussex Downs, close to Gatwick airport and only a train ride away from London.

We enjoy extensive facilities including two theatres, a vast array of equipment (including CT and laparoscopy), and a comprehensive in-house lab. Having dedicated night and inpatient teams means there is no on-call or OOH requirement for our first-opinion vets. We believe in offering the best possible care for our patients and the highest level of service for our clients. If this is how you like to work, New Priory is the place for you!

About the Team and Culture

We are a family of 9.5 first opinion vets, a dedicated ECC team and two referral vets in cardiology and imaging. Our 15 wonderful RVN's and 5 SVN's keep us all on the straight and narrow, ably assisted by our NA's and receptionists. Our size, specialities and 24-hour nature give us an interesting and varied case load, with the ability to work up cases to a very high level. If you have an interest, we want to nurture it!

Applicant Requirements

We would love to talk with you if you share our ethos of providing clinical excellence and compassionate care. You should be happy with routine medicine and surgery and demonstrate excellent communication skills, both with colleagues and clients. Our family-feel is hugely important to us, and it is paramount that anyone joining the team fits in well. If you are friendly, positive, and supportive of your colleagues then you will fit in perfectly.
