The Role

Here at Vale Vets Dursley, we are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. The position will be an integral part of a 12 Vet first opinion team. The day-to-day duties includes carrying out first opinion consultations, having designated operations days, in-patient management and protected admin time.

Every Vet in our team has responsibilities to ensure excellent client service with empathy and understanding. We also support each other in our day-to-day work and we all expect ourselves to support our veterinary colleagues and the wider team.

The rota includes working 40 hours per week over 4 days. There will be 1 in 8 weekends and out-of-hours involved with time off in lieu.

The salary will be up to £65,000 depending on experience.

About Us

We are a thriving first opinion and referral centre based in the beautiful Cotswolds just North of Bristol and South of Gloucester/Cheltenham with easy access to the M5 and have recently undergone a £2.5 million extension refurbishment to give a modern and clean practice. All modern facilities include digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, and extensive animal care facilities. 

Being a referral and first opinion centre sets us apart in the quality and standard of care that we can give our clients This creates a unique culture within the practice of support, care, and expertise.

 Currently, we have 12 first opinion Clinicians, 9 Referral Vets, and around 30 Nursing Staff. In total, the Practice Manager will be overseeing 70-80 members of staff. We have certificate holders in our first opinion team and we're lucky to have the support of specialists within our referral team. We work closely with local charities to support our community. We partner and provide veterinary services for the Cotswold Cats and Dogs home.
