The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our practice in Waltham Abbey.

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon who has good general practice knowledge and is confident with working up cases to a high standard as well as performing routine surgeries. This role will be ideal for someone with at least 1 year of UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience. We would be open to supporting professional development to the certificate level and are happy investing in new toys to support growth.

You will work alongside the Lead Vet, an RVN, 3 SVN, and a Receptionist in a supportive environment with lots of opportunities to improve your skills and confidence. The role will involve consulting, routine surgery as well as taking part in the weekend, bank holidays, and on-call rota (average 2-3 weeks on-call per year).

The role is full-time working 4 days per week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays and includes a sole charge on occasion.

Branch:

Waltham Abbey is part of the Enfield region within Medivet and works closely with our Enfield 24-hour hospital which is only a 10-minute drive. Our 24-hour hospital provides the out of hours and in-patient care for our practice and offers access to Medivet's only Radioactive Iodine unit amongst the other usual equipment.

The practice has an amazing, dedicated, and passionate team which is led by a branch partner who has been with us since 2018. We have a digital x-ray machine, a multiparameter, in-house biochemistry + haematology, and very soon will have an ultrasound machine with the capability to perform abdominal imaging and echocardiograms. The practice is ISFM accredited Silver with separate cat and dog waiting for areas with a team passionate about keeping patient care the first priority. Our clients are very loyal and bonded to the clinic with a large percentage of insured pets.
