Job Details

The role:

We are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our Beckenham 24-Hour Hospital. 

Beckenham 24-Hour is a busy hospital, led by our Branch Partner, Sean, and Lead Vet, Daniel. We are a six-vet clinic plus a dedicated night team who manage all out-of-hour care for the region's 15 surrounding branches.

The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, gastroscope, bronchoscope, laparoscopy, orthopaedic equipment, ultrasound as our machinery plus a wide array of more emergency equipment. With CT suite due to be built in the near future!

Competitive salary package to include: 

  • - £750 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available
  • - Hours: 40 per week with 1:6 weekends

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will assist with the financial and operational performance of your practice as well as the overall team performance and engagement.

You'll take pride in the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care, encouraging a progressive clinical culture. And, ensure Medivet policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all of your team. 

You'll work closely with the Lead Vet as well as our wider teams to ensure the general smooth running of your practice, from Practice Standards to Health & Safety, and ensure things such as debt are managed and controlled and any complaints are dealt with appropriately. 

As a Head Nurse and Clinical Coach, you will develop and support your direct reports, holding one-to-one and providing regular feedback on their performance, as well as taking action to create a positive environment that results in stable retention for your branch.

Beckenham has lots of character and charm, it was recently voted one of the best commuter towns with fast direct access into London for all the capital has to offer!

There is a lively High Street with restaurants and shops as well as Beckenham Place Park right on our doorstep.  

The practice is situated in a quiet, leafy residential area with excellent train and tram links including Thameslink, Southeastern, and Southern Train Lines. We also have staff parking available.
