Job Details

Hollybank Veterinary Centre is an independent small animal practice across two sites. Our flagship Hospital in Sandiway is an independent RCVS accredited small animal hospital, nurse training practice and gold cat friendly clinic which strives to provide the highest standards of first opinion care for our patients and clients.

We also have a brand new purpose built standalone practice in Winnington. Here we provide the same standard of care, with only overnight inpatient care being transferred to our hospital.

We provide excellent care to pets and their owners in a friendly and professional environment.

Our Team

We have seven vets with Advanced Practitioners in Anaesthesia, ECC and Medicine and are fully supported by an experienced and dedicated front of house team. We also have visiting Specialist vets in Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery, Cardiology and Diagnostic imaging. This allows us to provide a fantastic standard of care to all our patients and the opportunity to care for interesting and challenging cases.

Our fantastic nursing team of eight RVNs and three SVNs is led by a DipAVN and includes ECC certificate holders. They are integral to the practice and are valued as such with cpd and further study supported and encouraged.

We have a very friendly and inclusive team right across the practice with vets, nurses and reception staff all supporting each other - we are looking for the right candidates to maintain and enhance this.

The Role

We are looking for at least three RVN's to add to our growing practice team. The right candidates will truly care for our patients, be good team players and  be enthusiastic, proactive and motivated to provide a high quality first opinion service to our patients and clients. Our nursing team is involved in all aspects of our practice, including provision of 24 hour on site inpatient care. The feeling of a good job done well and seeing that really poorly inpatient get better and go home makes it worthwhile. We use an OOH service provider for OOH calls.

Our nursing rota has being updated and refined for our growing team, with extensive consultation within the practice. We offer a four day working week (shifts a combination of 8-5, 10-7 or 11-8) and a shared weekend/night rota.  Weekend days are 8am - 8pm (with days off in lieu). Overnight inpatient care is Monday - Sunday 8pm-8am with a full week off in lieu. The weekday day shifts are shared across the sites to maintain our 'one team' approach.

We value all our team and strive to provide both a good work life balance and real job satisfaction. We reward our RVNs with salaries from £28k (new/recently qualified) to £38k depending on experience and further qualifications. Further support such as seven weeks holiday, generous CPD budget and encouragement, trained mental health first aiders within the team, staff pet discounts, paid memberships and pension are included.

All applications to be sent to VetFinders.

Company

VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities  giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked  with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
