Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon at our Tilehurst practice.

The successful candidate will be a driven, dynamic, ambitious individual with exceptional communication skills. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of UK (or UK equivalent) small animal experience who practices to a very high standard using an evidence-based approach. 

This is a sole charge role, supported by a Head Nurse and Student Nurse.

Partnership opportunities are available for the right candidate, who shows an interest/experience in management and business, as well as strong veterinary skills.

This role covers 39 hours a week, spread across 4 working days per week, providing great work-life balance. The shift pattern includes 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends.

Salary & Benefits:

A very competitive package of up to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience), which includes accommodation allowance and a vehicle or vehicle allowance

£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days’ CPD leave per annum or pro rata and in-house CPD training

5 weeks annual leave, plus bank holidays

VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

Skills and experience: 

You must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.

Ideally, you will have at least 2 years of UK (or UK equivalent) veterinary experience.

Branch:

The close-knit team at Medivet Tilehurst consists of a Lead Veterinary Surgeon, a Head Veterinary Nurse and a Student Veterinary Nurse.

Medivet Tilehurst boasts many facilities, such as separate cat and dog wards, an in-house laboratory and x-ray facilities. The practice is support by Medivet 24 Hour Wokingham, the hospital in the Wokingham region.
