The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fixed Term Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team here at Kilbarchan Veterinary Practice!

Required for single site small animal role. You will work as part of a supportive team with 5 experienced vets (mix of full and part-time) and 4 qualified nurses. The role would usually include a mix of consulting and procedures/ops.

The diary is well managed with care to ensure breaks, time for reporting results/prescriptions and lunch hours are protected. Slots are kept for 'on the day/emergency' appointments in order to protect from overbooking. Consults are currently allocated 20 minutes with double appointments for more complex cases. The nurses also consult alongside the vets including nurse clinics and laser therapy sessions.

Although we are advertising for a full-time candidate at 40 hours per week there is some degree of flexibility in this. Typically, the 40 hours would be worked over 4 days with the same day off every week allowing you to pursue hobbies and maintain a work life balance. Saturday mornings are shared equally between the vets and will be no more than 1 in 4. OOH is covered by a local OOH provider and no inpatients are kept overnight. Fixed term will be for 1 year.

Salary for the role is up to £55,000 depending on experience.
