Based in SRUC’s Dairy Research & Innovation Centre in Dumfries and working with a wide range of project partners and stakeholders across South-West Scotland and Cumbria, the main purpose of this role is to provide leadership and strategic vision for the Digital Dairy Value Chain project to ensure maximum value and legacy for the dairy value chain, in South-West Scotland and Cumbria, SRUC and the funder (UKRI). 

You will work with the Head of Dairy Research & Innovation Centre and the project senior responsible officer, to lead on key aspects of delivery of this very large and high-profile project. 

Key responsibilities include Monitoring progress (Financial and Technical) and performance of all activities across the Digital Dairy Value Chain project. This will require the postholder to chair meetings with governance and technical advisory groups, monitoring outputs and risks, and managing the project budget. This will involve close liaison with all delivery partners and, particularly with work package leads, who are based across several partners.  

You will be expected to engage with external expertise and bring in additional support, as required. Helping with vision and direction of the programme. It is key that you can contribute to the Leadership of the wider SRUC Dairy Research & Innovation Centre, through membership of the Centre Leadership Team, acting as a key public face for the Digital Dairy Value Chain project in relationships with stakeholders, public and media.
