About the Role 

Exciting opportunity to join the brilliant nursing team at Highcroft Vets, Hailsham, East Sussex. 

The role is varied, with theatre work, kennels, laboratory duties, and nurse clinics equally shared amongst the team. There will be some client care and administrative duties. 

In a full-time role, our nurses work a 4-day week with a fixed day off and work a weekend rota of 2 Saturdays from 6, working one Saturday 8.30-3.30 then one 8.30-12.30 with no OOH or Bank Holiday work. 

Salary

Salary for the role is up to £33,000 per annum dependent on experience.

About Us

Highcroft is a small animal practice based in a growing market town, close to an area of outstanding natural beauty, approximately 7 miles from the coast and with excellent train links to Brighton and London nearby. 

PSS accredited (General Practice) and a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre, we are dedicated to high quality care. Highcroft Vets is well equipped with excellent digital X-ray facilities, high quality ultrasound, dental X-ray, iM3 dental station and up to date anaesthetic monitoring, along with regularly updated, team- driven policies and protocols ensure standards are met whilst also maintaining job satisfaction. 

Our in-house laboratory includes a full range of Idexx analysers, Class IV K-laser is used both post operatively and during VN clinics. Separate cattery, kennel and isolation areas plus an outdoor exercise area offer excellent inpatient facilities. 

About the Team and Culture

Our team of 5.5 Vets, 6.2 Nurses and 8 support staff in Client care and management includes a PGCert holder in Medicine and an NHS Leadership Academy Award holder - all CPD supported by Highcroft. This confirms our commitment to and support for professional development and personal growth in both clinical and non-clinical areas for all team members. As such we have been awarded the ‘Investor in People’ status for over 17 years. We have a positive, can-do working ethos in practice, but most important we have a supportive and encouraging culture. 

Applicant Requirements

You will be a qualified RVN with experience in a small animal clinic. Cheerful and motivated, with drive and enthusiasm to fit into our friendly working environment. You will be a team player, a proactive individual with an adaptable friendly personality, skilful with patients, and great with clients. A driving license is essential for this role due to potential travel between branches. Insurance experience would be beneficial but not essential.
