Westmoor (Tavistock)

Veterinary Ophthalmologist

Westmoor Veterinary Hospital is seeking a veterinary ophthalmologist to join the team. This is an exciting role, which can be flexible for the right candidate. The ophthalmology caseload is busy and varied, supporting a wide area of local practices. Our two ophthalmic consulting rooms are kitted-out with a full range of diagnostic equipment, including Retivet ERG. Experienced ophthalmic nurses run the dedicated eye theatre which sports a lovely Topcon microscope, phacoemulsification equipment, operating chair and ventilator. A BVA panellist visits on a regular basis to run eye testing days to support breeders in the south west.

The ideal candidate will be a friendly and enthusiastic team player, keen to take part in journal club and bring new ideas. You would be supported by a progressive team where CPD is encouraged and fully funded. The salary is generous and the hours can be negotiated to suit both parties.

The practice is situated in picturesque Tavistock (Devon) with easy access to Dartmoor, Cornwall and the coast, and not far from the cities of Exeter and Plymouth. The ophthalmology caseload runs separately from the general practice, but supports their eye cases when required. The veterinary team includes certificate holders in Cardiology, Medicine and Imaging. We pride ourselves on providing a quality, caring service and have qualified nurses on site overnight to care for any inpatients.

For more information please contact the Clinical Director Kristina.chourot@westmoorvets.com or for an informal chat, speak to Kate Salmon (ophthalmologist) on 07973403358 kate.salmon@westmoorvets.com
