The role:

Our Veterinary Surgeons are at the front line of delivering exceptional care and play an integral part in each one of our sites. From routine health checks to advanced surgeries, you’ll work directly with clients and their pets to offer care that’s bespoke to them.

Our Vets provide essential support to Lead Vets or Branch Partners in delivering care to clients and their pets. This includes covering days off, holidays and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days

Salary & Benefits

Salary package up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience, to include:

  • 5 weeks' annual leave (FTE)
  • 4 weeks' paid sabbatical (after each 5 years of service)

The role is working 4 days per week with a weekend on a fair rota basis and time off in lieu.

We also offer relocation allowances should you move more than 50 miles from your current home address.

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure all team members provide quality and ethical care to all clients and their pets/livestock
  • Assess and examine and diagnose patients’ medical issues
  • Perform surgery, dress and treat wounds
  • Perform diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required
  • Prescribe medication
  • Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations
  • Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets/livestock
  • Euthanise patients
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain patients’ medical records

Skills and experience:

  • Registered with the RCVS
  • Qualified MRCVS
  • Commitment to animal welfare
  • Ability to keep on top of practise protocols and procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills

MediVet Wath (Arncliffe Veterinary Centre) is a kind and caring team who are able to offer a full range of veterinary services and facilities, including nurse clinics and dental procedures, alongside friendly, expert care.

Wath upon Dearne is a small town south of the River Dearne 5 miles north of Rotherham, South Yorkshire. With the RSBP Dearne Valley Old Moore and the Trans Pennine Trail on your doorstep this is a beautiful location to explore and call home.

Branch:

Medivet Wath is located on Doncaster road just off the A633. The practice is easily accessible with Mexborough, Swinton interchange train station walking distance from the practice and they have onsite parking.

The large practice is equipped with the latest technology, including ECG, In-house lab, ultrasound, orthopaedic and operating theatre. As well as our in-house services at Medivet Wath, you’ll also get access to all the services available across the entire Medivet group.
