We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team as Head Veterinary Nurse at our fantastic practice based in Lower Earley.

This role is on a fixed term contract as it is covering maternity leave, however, Medivet is constantly expanding which provides permanent opportunities for the right candidate in the future.

The role will involve all aspects of nursing as well as the day-to-day running of the practice. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas; more responsibilities will form part of this role with full support being provided by the nursing team.

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practice with your team and helping to support and develop the student nurses in your practice.

All of our Head Nurses are provided with dedicated support with other duties, such as recruitment and Health and Safety. While there are still administration duties involved in your role, this support will allow you to spend more time managing your team and doing what you love, nursing!

This role begins from late December and covers 40 hours a week. This shift pattern includes 1:4 Saturdays or Sunday.

Skills and experience:

You must be a Veterinary Nurse who is registered with the RCVS.

Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required.

Branch:

Medivet Lower Earley provides a range of services for its patients, including microchipping, x-rays and ultrasound. The practice also has access to a wider range of services provided by the Medivet group, including ECG, endoscopy, CT imaging and MRI. The practice is also supported by the 24 hospital in the region Medivet 24 Hour Wokingham

The team is consists of a Veterinary Surgeon, who is also a Branch Partner, as well as a Student Nurse and Patient Care Assistant.

The practice is easily accessible to London via the M4 or by train.
