This small and friendly independent practice set within an historic part of Lincolnshire, have a great opportunity for a full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the team on a permanent basis. 

The team pride themselves on providing gold-standard care and have a good range of equipment and resources with which to offer their clients and patients the very best in animal care; including IDEXX in-house analysers (including Procyte, Catalyst One, Sedivue, UA analyser, COAG, and SNAPSHOT), endoscope, operating microscope, digital X-Ray, prep area and separate fully equipped operating theatre, ultrasonography, fully stocked pharmacy, Class 4 K-Laser, access to VetCT, access to Noah anaesthesia app, Vetstream, active patient warmer, Cardell Multi-parameter monitor, in-house separate dental suite and tub table, and ergonomic examination tables. 

There is a fantastic and capable team of nurses who are always willing to help where needed, they are ISFM registered, RCVS registered, and use Sevoflurane to allow individual tailored anaesthesia. As a practice they have a strong focus on pain prevention and management, they run Acupuncture clinics, and provide air conditioning throughout both branches for the comfort of staff, patients and clients.  The team also have an established relationship with a visiting Orthopaedic surgeon, who attends the practice to perform procedures, allowing for better continuity of patient and client care. 

The team are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join the team, surgical experience is required as the team see a high level of of routine procedures. A consulting/internal medicine bias would be ideal but this is not essential. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to consulting, surgery days, client communications, in-patient care and so you must be registered with the RCVS and ideally have 2-3 years experience, although the team can support a new or recent graduate if you are looking for a supportive environment. You will be working collaboratively as part of a well-established team of receptionists, nurses and vets. 

This full time role will see you work 43.75hrs per week. There is plenty of time within this for paperwork, client communications, and case development plus 1 hour for lunch every day. The weekend rota is 1 in 4 with inpatient care and Saturday consults 8.15-11am and  2.30-4pm. If there are inpatients, a morning inpatient check on a Sunday is also required. There is always a nurse staying over IF there are inpatients. 
OOH emergency care is provided by VetsNow, however the team are proud to care for their own inpatients as required. There is a 1 in 4 weeknight inpatient cover shift, mainly phone advice if required by the nurse staying over.
You will be given clinical freedom whilst working within a supportive team with highly supportive management and a lovely client base.

Salary is negotiable, dependent on experience, and between £30k-£50k
CPD allowance is generous and unlimited, this will be discussed with the candidate as the need arises and can be tailored to provide initial support or to fund Certificates if this is desired. You will be offered a pensions scheme, regular CPD (lunch and learns, training courses), and the team are more then happy to cover or contribute towards the costs of additional qualifications and accreditations. They also have a strong working relationship with an incredible animal rescue charity. 

Based in a historic market town, with beautiful surroundings and attractions in the area such as Rutland Water and Fineshade Woods for amazing dog walks, you will be able to make the most of your time off.
