The Role

We are a friendly and happy practice looking for a like-minded Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The role offers a varied working day with a morning for operating for sterile ops and another one or two for imaging or other procedures. We like to give our surgeons the chance to work up their cases and also have 15-minute appointments to allow the appro-priate time to discuss cases properly. The role does carry the expectation to work across all sites.

This is a great opportunity allowing for the role to be tailored to the candidate. Offering a role for either a newly qualified Veterinary Surgeon to gain great clinical exposure and further development of their skills and knowledge, or also suitable for a more experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a senior role with some additional responsibilities.

The role is full time, you would be working 4.5 days in the week on a shift pattern from 8am-7pm. There would be 2:5 Saturday mornings until 2pm. There is no OOH.

Salary

Salary for the role is up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience.

About Us

We are a long-established practice with lovely clientele and pets.
We are located on the south coast with beaches and easy access to the South Downs national park. We work as a team with our nurses doing clinics and some ops. Our nurses are experienced and helpful and we
all enjoy working together and have a shared sense of humour to
get us through the day. We have digital x rays and dental x rays. We
have a broncho-scope and multi parameter monitoring for GA. We
have ultrasound and would support you in learning to use these.

About the Team and Culture

We have 6 Vets, 7 Nurses and 12 support staff. We do not have any certificate holders but would support you to do one if you were interested. We are a general practice, and you would do a bit of everything. We offer a big staff room and paid tea breaks. Refreshments and fresh fruit are provided. We benefit from the support of being part of a larger group while maintaining our own identity. We have supported several new graduates before, and they all stayed on for a few years. We can allow you time to progress with support and coaching. We support several local charities and do an annual charity dog show in the town.

Applicant Requirements

As the role is an opportunity we are willing to tailor to the candidate we are open to considering newly qualified Vets right up to senior level experienced Vets. We have a coach and will support you if you are on the newly qualified side. If you are more experienced we would expect you to have experience leading a team and a willingness to coach.

We would expect you to have enthusiasm and good communication skills. You need a positive attitude and a sense of humour. You need to be an MRCVS and an interest in imaging would be great but not essential.
